Privacy Policy

GoodnightFables creates personalized, illustrated children’s stories. We take the privacy of families, and especially children, seriously. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how we handle it. Plain language, no surprises.

Who provides information

Accounts are created and managed by a parent or guardian (an adult). Any information about a child is entered by that adult, and by using GoodnightFables you confirm you are the child’s parent or guardian and consent to us using it to create stories for them. Children do not create accounts or interact with us directly.

What we collect

Account: your name and email address (or, if you sign in with Google, your Google name and email).

Reader profiles:a child’s first name, age, and reading level that you enter so we can tailor stories. Please don’t enter a child’s full name, address, or other sensitive details. We don’t need them.

Story inputs & output: the characters, details, and lessons you choose, and the stories and illustrations we generate for you.

Usage: basic activity such as which books were read, to power your library and reading stats. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.

How we use it

Only to provide the service: generate and store your stories, run your account and subscription, show your reading progress, keep the product safe, and contact you about your account. We do notsell your data or use children’s information for advertising.

Service providers

We share the minimum necessary with trusted providers who help us run GoodnightFables: Supabase (database, authentication, and private file storage), Stripe (payments), Vercel (hosting), and OpenRouter with the underlying AI models from Anthropic and Google (to write and illustrate stories). Story text and the details you enter are sent to these AI providers to generate your book. Generated images of your stories are kept in private storage and shown to you through short-lived secure links. They are never public.

Safety

Because this is a product for children, we run automated content moderation on what you request and on what we generate, and review imagery for appropriateness before it’s shown.

Keeping & deleting your data

We keep your account and books while your account is active. You can delete individual books anytime, and you can ask us to delete your account and all associated data, including reader profiles and generated stories, by emailing support@goodnightfables.com. We’ll honor verified requests promptly.

Children’s privacy

GoodnightFables is intended for use by adults on behalf of their children. We do not knowingly let children create accounts or collect information directly from children. If you believe a child has provided us information directly, contact us and we’ll remove it.
